Episode V: Ashes of The Elderwood

A new class, new equipment and new goals for your journey through Iris: Episode V brings the Huntress to the battlefield. Her whip, bleeding attacks and controllable clone offer a distinct way to fight. Your journey also extends to Level 210, with Ascendant Woods and Eternal Woods equipment, new dungeons and a rune system for further character development.

There is plenty to discover outside combat, too. Build your fishing career, meet new companions, shape your character's appearance with titles and costumes, and work towards new goals with your guild. This introduction explains what the episode brings and how its systems fit together.

Existing classes also benefit from the episode: the Elementalist gains expanded control over summoned elementals, and many skills respond more directly to your input. Targeted improvements to movement, targeting and equipment visuals complete the update.

Meet the Huntress

The Huntress is a new playable class with her own whips, armor and skill tree. Her fighting style combines focused attacks, bleeding effects and attacks that hit several enemies. Later, she can summon a clone and give it direct orders. In dungeon groups, she fills the damage dealer role.

If you enjoy actively choosing targets, positioning enemies and combining skills, the Huntress gives you a new class to explore. You control your own attacks while deciding where your clone should fight. Her progression runs from your first whip strike to class-specific equipment for the highest levels.

Whip skills for different situations

Whip Pull draws an eligible enemy towards you, letting you bring a target closer before starting your attack sequence. The pull itself deals no damage. Bosses and immovable enemies cannot be displaced by it.

Rending Lash strikes your selected target and applies a bleed lasting ten seconds. Against several enemies, Tempest of Thorns hits your main target and up to four nearby enemies.

Your normal attacks gain their own advantage. Cleaving Whip allows ordinary whip attacks to hit up to three additional monsters within three meters of the main target. This passive applies to normal attacks; skill attacks do not trigger it. Steady Hands increases your accuracy and physical attack for five minutes while you wield a whip.

Progress through the skill tree

The skill tree contains 36 skills with 179 learnable ranks: 19 skills in the base class and 17 in its specialization. Develop your abilities step by step, combining active attacks with passive strengths. Both sections show the progression of a single class.

The overview marks active skills in green and passive skills in blue. Arrows show learning prerequisites: Rupturing Lash requires Rending Lash at Rank 1, for example, while Tempest of Thorns requires Whirlwind Lash at Rank 1. The diagram uses the English skill names. Open it at full size to inspect the names, learning levels and connections.

Your clone in combat

The Huntress can learn Clone at Level 190. It summons a copy with your name and appearance that follows you and supports you in combat. Only one clone can be active at a time. Summoning again replaces the existing clone; its base duration is up to 200 seconds.

Let it fight alongside you or issue direct orders. Hold Left Alt and click with the left mouse button:

  • Click the ground: move the clone to that position.
  • Click an enemy: order the clone to attack it.
  • Click your own character: order the clone to follow you again.

This lets you choose your clone's position and focus it on a particular target. Its remaining duration appears in the buff display. Attacks against other players remain subject to the applicable PvP rules.

Armor from your first levels to the endgame

The Huntress starts with class-specific equipment such as Crimson Empress and the Emberwood Whip. Other armor designs include Royal Vanguard, Shadow Empress, Eternal Grace and Molten Dominion. Her own weapons and armor accompany you through the different level ranges.

At higher levels, Thornstalker and Thorncrown await. Thornstalker belongs to the equipment range around Level 200, with individual pieces requiring Levels 198–201. Thorncrown covers Levels 207–210. Matching weapons include the Ascendant of Woods Whip at Level 200 and the Accuracy/Avoidance Whip of Eternal Woods at Level 210.

Thornstalker and Thorncrown share an armor model but remain separate equipment lines with different requirements. The gallery lists their individual pieces and levels under the shared appearance.

When planning your build, remember that the Huntress has a combined cap of 90% cooldown reduction from equipment and character stats.

The Elementalist and improved summon control

The Elementalist gains more control over summoned elementals. For each summon, you choose whether it should use its displayed skill automatically. Protection mode lets it defend you, while expanded stat information helps you understand your summons better and adapt them to the fight.

Use summon skills automatically

Right-click the skill icon in the summon window to turn automatic use of that skill on or off. A highlighted icon and its tooltip show whether automation is active. You can still use the skill manually with a left-click.

The elemental uses its enabled skill when the normal requirements are met: its cooldown must be ready, sufficient MP must be available, and skills that require a target need an eligible target within range. The MP cost is still deducted from your character. Choose carefully which summons should use their skills automatically. After a teleport that resets summon controls, enable your preferred automatic skills again.

Let your elementals protect you

The protection mode button allows a summon to respond to attacks against you or against itself. Once it has selected a living, visible enemy, it stays with that target instead of switching immediately after every additional hit. Your elemental can support you while you use your own skills.

Targeting has also been adjusted: invisible enemies are no longer automatically attacked. After using its sleep skill, the wind elemental pauses its normal attacks for as long as the affected monster remains asleep. Its own sleep effect is therefore no longer immediately broken by its next ordinary attack.

Your character's development affects your summons

Your character's active magic attack bonuses, including those from suitable potions, are taken into account by your elementals. Equipment and stat changes also update summons that are already active, making the effects of your character's development visible in their stats.

The tooltip on the elemental icon shows HP, magic attack, physical and magical defense, attack speed, movement speed, attack range and remaining summon duration. Use it to compare your elementals' strengths and see how they develop alongside your character.

New weapons and armor for Levels 200 and 210

All ten classes receive equipment across two further stages of progression: Ascendant Woods around Level 200 and Eternal Woods around Level 210. Each class has its own matching armor and weapons. The previews show complete combinations and their effects so you can explore your next equipment goals.

The labels “200” and “210” refer to the equipment line. Individual armor pieces have different level requirements. Check each piece and its class requirement when assembling your gear. For the Huntress, Thornstalker ranges from Level 198 to 201 and Thorncrown from 207 to 210.

These lines provide new equipment goals on your way to the highest levels. Compare the displayed stats and your skills to decide which weapon and options suit your character. You can then develop eligible items further through the upgrade and refinement systems.

Ascendant Woods armor around Level 200 drops in Sylvalis. Level 200 weapons drop in the Fallen Cathedral. Use the new Platinum Magnifying Glass to identify eligible armor pieces and reveal their hidden seals. Compare the resulting values before deciding which pieces to develop further.

Eternal Woods armor comes from the endgame dungeons available from Level 210. Armor boxes are part of the boss loot in The Molten Abyss, while Deadwind Canyon provides weapon boxes. These boxes contain equipment from the corresponding line. Dungeon roll rules apply to group loot; a particular desired item is not guaranteed.

Eternal Woods has Origin options, adding further stats to consider when planning your equipment. Compare each item's properties before investing materials in it.

Ascendant Woods

The range around Level 200 includes weapons and armor for Titan, Knight, Healer, Mage, Rogue, Sorcerer, NightShadow, EX-Rogue, Archmage and Huntress. Compare your class's designs, colors and weapon effects in the previews.

Progress to level 210 and beyond

Character progression now reaches Level 210. Levels 191–210 open the path to new equipment and dungeon content. Along the way, EXP requirements for Levels 100–190 have been adjusted.

Ascension evolves

This episode separates the Ascension system from character leveling: you earn Ascension Points separately from normal character EXP. Eligible quests now offer another way to advance your Ascension rank.

Ascension Points appear directly in the rewards of an eligible quest. Ascension must already be unlocked to complete these quests. You can choose tasks that help you continue your ascent, while designated monster rewards remain another source of Ascension Points.

Your separate Ascension bar shows progress towards the next rank. Filling it raises your rank and strengthens Power of Ascension. The system continues to have seven Ascension ranks.

Separate EXP and Ascension storage in EXP pets

Your EXP pets now distinguish between these two forms of progression. They have separate storage for normal character EXP and Ascension Points, each with its own capacity and display.

When you claim the stored amounts, each contributes to the corresponding progression system: normal EXP towards your character level and Ascension Points towards your Ascension rank. You can keep track of both amounts separately.

Conquer dungeons together

The Molten Abyss and Deadwind Canyon offer new challenges from Level 210 on Channel 3. Choose a solo option or group variants for four or eight players. Enemy waves, boss fights with visible warning areas and teamwork are central to these dungeons.

From registration to your first fight

Open the dungeon window and choose a dungeon and variant. It shows the entry requirements, the tickets you need and a preview of the rewards. Create a group room, join a group or enter with a group you have already assembled.

Every participant confirms that they are ready before the run begins. Make sure everyone has the required level, a suitable ticket and a remaining daily entry. Tickets and an entry are consumed when the run starts. Your remaining daily allowance follows the access rules shown in the window.

VariantGroup compositionTime limit for The Molten Abyss and Deadwind Canyon
SoloEnter through the solo option35 minutes
Four players1 tank, 1 healer and 2 damage dealers50 minutes
Eight players1 tank, 1 healer and 6 damage dealers50 minutes

Your available role depends on your class and specialization. Roles remain fixed once the run begins, giving the tank, healer and damage dealers defined places in the team from the start.

Clear waves and read boss attacks

Enemy waves unlock in sequence. Work your way forward, watch the bosses' warning areas and defeat the designated final boss within the time limit. Visible effects on the ground, on your character or above your head warn you about upcoming actions.

In these two dungeons, each death removes ten seconds from the shared remaining time. Resurrection inside the instance is possible, but the time penalty remains. The recall function returns you to the entrance and has a 120-second cooldown.

After a disconnect, you have 120 seconds to return, provided the instance is still active. Accept the re-entry prompt to continue your run.

Distribute loot fairly

Shared loot opens a window with Roll and Pass. Eligible participants have 30 seconds to decide. Rolls range from 1 to 100, and the highest roll wins. Tied highest rolls are resolved randomly between those players. Not responding counts as passing.

Participation in the boss fight determines loot eligibility. In the relevant group dungeons, assigned healers can also qualify by healing damage the boss dealt to other group members. Overhealing, self-healing or simply occupying a healer slot is not enough.

Won items go to your inventory. If it is full or you are offline when the loot is distributed, delivery takes place through Express. Reopen a closed window with pending rolls using /dungeonloot.

Build your own fishing career

Fishing brings its own progression from Fishing Level 1 to 20. Discover fishing areas, develop your fishing equipment and spend skill points to shape your approach. Each catch can move you forward, while special finds such as mythic catches or pirate chests are announced across the server.

Getting started

Equip a suitable fishing rod, bring bait and keep space available in your fishing net. Marked fishing spots appear on the map and radar with their Fishing Level requirements. Visit an eligible area and start casting while out of combat.

Every cast consumes one bait and energy, even if the catch then fails. Without additional bonuses, you have 100 energy, spend 3 energy per cast and regenerate one point every 30 seconds. Fishing equipment and skills can affect these values.

Timing matters when fishing manually

In the minigame, press F when the fish is in the target area. A good hit brings it closer; a perfect hit in the center makes more progress. Misses set you back. The attempt fails after the third miss or when time runs out.

A successful catch with at least one perfect hit and no misses counts as a Perfect catch. It grants 50% additional base fishing EXP and an Angler's Mark as an extra reward. You do not need to hit perfectly every time: complete a clean attempt with at least one perfect hit.

Fish automatically or reel in the catch yourself

Automatic mode handles the catching process and continues after successful catches while bait, energy and net space remain available. For an equivalent catch, it grants 20% of normal base fishing EXP; additional fishing EXP bonuses are then applied. The extra reward for a Perfect catch is available only when fishing manually.

Choose between playing the minigame for more progress through good timing and using the automatic process. Automatic fishing runs while your character is logged in.

Use your catches and develop your skills

Your catches go into a separate fishing net. At Fishingmaster Elias, exchange eligible catches through recipes and improve fishing equipment using the required materials. The recipe window shows the result, quantities needed and requirements.

As your Fishing Level increases, you gain skill points. Spend them on options such as net capacity, minigame time, energy management, fishing stats or fishing EXP. Higher Fishing Levels unlock further areas with their own catches. Check the required Fishing Level on rods, nets and fishing hats as well.

Two new companions for your journey

Your fishing career leads to two special companions: the Ancient Mire Toad and the Abyssal Hydra. The toad stands out with its large eyes, while the many-headed hydra brings a very different presence. See their idle animations below.

Ancient Mire Toad and Abyssal Hydra shown in their idle animations. The preview labels them Frog and Hydra.

Obtain these companions through fishing and its associated item collections. For Call of the Swamp Warden, collect Angler's Marks to earn the toad's collar. This unlocks Legacy of the Primordial Waters, which requires more marks and Leviathan Eels for the Abyssal Hydra's collar. Each collection shows the quantities needed.

The collar's associated quest first takes you to Lorein, then to Animal Trainer Noom in Randol, where you receive your companion. The Abyssal Hydra can also serve as a mount, while the Ancient Mire Toad is a non-riding companion. Fishing gives you another goal whose reward joins you on your travels.

07 · Episode V

Runes for your playstyle

From character level 210, runes give you another way to specialize your character. Depending on the rune, you can improve stats such as HP, accuracy, evasion, attributes, movement speed or specific resistances. You choose the combination that complements your equipment and skills.

You farm runes through the new dungeon system. Your dungeon runs also help you collect suitable runes for your setup and build up materials for future fusions. Over time, you can use your finds to develop a combination that suits your playstyle.

Main slots, secondary slots and rune pages

A fully unlocked page provides four main slots and eight secondary slots. The same secondary rune type can appear no more than twice on a page. You can prepare and name up to five pages, with additional slots unlocked separately on each page.

Only the active page grants its bonuses. Switching pages, equipping runes and performing fusions must be done outside combat. Each individual rune can be assigned to only one page at a time. Assigning it to another page removes its previous assignment.

This lets you keep different combinations ready—for example, a setup with more HP and resistances for a different role from your preferred offensive setup. The stats that help you most depend on your class and the fight ahead.

Turn three matching runes into a stronger rune

To upgrade a rune, you use three runes of the same type and tier. A successful attempt produces one rune of that type at the next tier. The highest available tier is 5.

UpgradeSuccess Chance
Tier 1 → 260%
Tier 2 → 335%
Tier 3 → 420%
Tier 4 → 510%

Without protection, a failed attempt consumes all three runes. A Rune Fusion Catalyst preserves them if the upgrade fails. The catalyst is consumed on every attempt and does not increase the success chance. A successful attempt still produces exactly one upgraded rune.

Roll for a different rune type

If you are looking for a different type, you can use three different rune types of the same tier. There is a 75 percent success chance of producing a random rune at that same tier. You cannot choose its type, and the result may be a type you already have.

A catalyst cannot be used for this reroll. If the attempt fails, all three runes are lost. Before confirming, check whether you want to upgrade your runes or roll for a different type.

08 · Episode V

Developing your equipment

Alongside collecting new weapons and armor, you have several ways to improve suitable items. Upgrades, Origin seals, seal refinement, Reformers and Astrals each serve a different purpose. Start by checking your item's properties, then choose the system that fits it.

The upgrade system from item level 195

For rune ore upgrades on weapons and armor from item level 195, you use the new higher rune ores. What matters is the item's level, not your character's level. Equipment from the Ascendant Woods and Eternal Woods lines also falls into this range.

MaterialWhat Happens on Success?
Higher Purified Rune OreThe upgrade level increases by exactly 1.
Higher Devil Rune OreThe upgrade level increases by 1, 2 or 3. After a successful attempt, these increases have chances of 60%, 30% and 10%, respectively.

These materials let you reach a permanent upgrade level of +30. A larger increase from Higher Devil Rune Ore also stops at +30. The size of the increase is determined only after an attempt succeeds; these percentages are therefore not the success chance of the upgrade itself.

The existing regular upgrade rune ores are no longer suitable for items at these higher levels.

Success chances and possible failures

The chance depends on the upgrade level before the attempt. Under the base system, without an upgrade event, attempts with higher rune ores on items currently at +0 through +6 have a 100 percent success chance. Higher Purified Rune Ore therefore takes you safely to +7. The next attempt on an item already at +7 has a base success chance of 88 percent. Each subsequent upgrade level has its own chance, shown in the upgrade window. Upgrade events can increase it.

On attempts that carry a risk, the upgrade level may drop by one, remain unchanged or the item may be destroyed. The two higher rune ores have the same base success chance, but the distribution of failure outcomes is not identical at every level. Check the appropriate protection before attempting to upgrade a valuable item.

Using runes of Protection I and II

The new Rune of Protection I and Rune of Protection II are available for upgrades using the two higher rune ores. Which one you use depends on the item's existing upgrade level before the attempt.

RuneUpgrade Level Before the AttemptIf the Item Would Be Destroyed
I+3 through +20The item and its upgrade level are preserved.
II+21 through +29The item is preserved, but its upgrade level resets to +21.

You do not need protection against destruction for the initial guaranteed attempts.

Both protection runes prevent destruction, but neither prevents a normal loss of one upgrade level. On an item currently at +27, a normal decrease therefore leaves it at +26; destruction prevented by Rune of Protection II leaves it at +21. Even an item at +21 can drop to +20 through a normal decrease.

For an attempt on an item currently at +20, you still use Rune of Protection I. Rune of Protection II becomes the appropriate choice only once the item is at +21. If it drops back to +20, switch back to I for the next attempt.

The rune ore and any added protection rune are consumed on every attempt, including successful ones. The protection rune does not increase the success chance. The protection described here applies to the two higher rune ores.

These materials are consumed when improving your equipment. The main and secondary runes you equip in the separate rune window remain part of a different system.

Origin equipment with up to eight seals

Origin equipment can carry up to eight seals. Check an individual item's properties to see which seals it has. These give you additional stats to consider when comparing equipment and choosing what fits your class and playstyle.

Develop seals through gameplay

Suitable equipped items earn Accessory Points from the combat rewards that grant them. Reaching a threshold adds a random seal. The refinement system supports up to six seals, which can receive a level between 1 and 3 when they are created.

Appropriate consumables let you improve existing seals or remove a selected seal or the most recently added one. Removing a seal can make room for a new random seal later. An improvement is not guaranteed, and the material is consumed even if the attempt fails.

Reroll stats with the Reformer

The Reformer changes the stats of eligible Rare or Origin equipment. Unequip the target item, choose the appropriate Reformer and use the required Platinum Magnifying Glass items. Depending on the reform, using more glasses improves seal chances or affects the possible stat range. Even the maximum amount does not guarantee a perfect result.

With Premium Plus, you can restore the saved state from before the same item's most recent reform once. This requires ten Platinum Magnifying Glass items. Another reform attempt replaces the previously saved state. After each result, consider whether you want to keep it, restore the previous state or reform the item again.

Facet your Astral and choose each attempt

An Astral has two positive stats and one negative stat. When faceting it, you choose one of these three rows. Your aim is to develop the positive stats while keeping the drawback as low as possible.

All rows share the same displayed chance. It starts at 75 percent, drops by ten percentage points after a success and rises by ten percentage points after a failure. It stays between 25 and 75 percent. The order of your attempts therefore matters: a higher chance is useful for a positive row, while a lower chance helps you limit the negative stat.

Each attempt costs one million gold. The number of available attempts depends on the Astral. You can equip it and benefit from its final stats only after completing all attempts in all three rows.

09 · Episode V

New titles and visible achievements

New titles put your achievements on display and, depending on the title, grant additional character bonuses. They give your progress in affinities, collections, fishing and class rankings a distinctive look. The previews show their effects directly on a character.

Elderwood's Spirit and Elderwood's Soul are rewards from the Elderwood Dynasty affinity. They support PvE damage, movement speed and gold gained; Elderwood's Soul also provides an attack bonus. Working on this affinity therefore gives you a title to pursue that combines appearance with character progression.

Affinity Grandmaster is available through The One Who Stayed collection and its prerequisites. Its bonuses cover HP, accuracy, evasion, stone resistance and PvP damage absorption. This gives it a different focus from the two Elderwood titles.

Elderwood's Spirit, Elderwood's Soul and Affinity Grandmaster with their title effects.

Your achievements by the water also earn their own titles. The four regional fishing collections for Juno, Straya, Alber and Sylvalis each require the fish species from that region and reward you with a regional title. Once you complete all four, you can fulfill the overall collection for Master Angler of Iris. This title grants PvE damage absorption and bonuses to gold gained and movement speed.

Highest Level for Huntress is one of the rewards from the Huntress class rankings. The title has its own glowing effect and lasts seven days, making it a visible sign of a place among the class leaders.

Other new titles draw on dungeon and fishing themes, including Echoes of the Fallen Cathedral, The Last Warden of Sylvalis, Treasure Hunter and Mooncatcher of Sylvalis. They add more options even without their own effect animation.

10 · Episode V

Playing together and sharing EXP

Your choice of group also determines how your character EXP is shared. A regular party using equal distribution receives a ten percent party bonus. A fellowship using equal distribution receives no additional group bonus.

In combat mode, regular parties and fellowships follow the same rules: a ten percent base bonus, plus five percentage points for each eligible member who has landed the final hit on an EXP-granting monster within the last 30 seconds. At most three members count, bringing the maximum bonus to 25 percent. Multiple kills by the same player do not count that player more than once.

Your damage to the monster determines your share

In combat parties and combat fellowships, character EXP is distributed entirely according to the damage dealt to that particular monster. A player who deals no damage to it receives no character EXP from it. This calculation uses the levels of the members who actually contributed damage.

The final hit therefore determines the temporary activity bonus, while your damage to the current monster determines your share of its EXP. SP, Accessory and Ascension rewards have their own distribution rules.

Support also has a role

World boss rewards take damage contribution into account. Clerics and Templars can also qualify through their group's contribution. P2 pets can contribute group buffs and passive bonuses through skills designed for that purpose. The support your pet provides depends on its own abilities.

11 · Episode V

Costumes, emotes and Loyalty

In the Costume Shop, you can browse offers, filter by pieces and preview suitable items on your character. The preview helps you try out different combinations. A separate selection of emotes gives your character more ways to express themselves, while Sorcerers can also choose from suitable transformation skins.

Combine a new look with your Loyalty bonuses

Loyalty Transfer lets you move the bonuses from an eligible costume piece to another compatible piece or to the corresponding slot of a set. Both items must match your class and the same equipment slot, and both must be unequipped. The target must not already have an active Loyalty bonus.

  1. Assign your existing costume piece as the source and your chosen piece as the target.
  2. Check the displayed result in the preview.
  3. Confirm the transfer once the bonus and target are correct.

The bonus moves from the old piece to the new one. Its existing binding restrictions are retained, and transferring a timed bonus does not give it a fresh duration. This lets you change your appearance while continuing to use your existing Loyalty bonuses on a suitable new piece.

Eligible costume sets can also be split into five individual pieces. Make sure you have five free inventory slots. You can then use the pieces separately and combine them with other compatible costume pieces.

Act before your C2 costumes expire

A red system message identifies any affected timed C2 item with no more than 24 hours remaining. The check covers both equipped pieces and eligible items in your inventory. This gives you time to consider an extension or a replacement before the item expires.

12 · Episode V

Trading while you are offline

An NPC Shop lets you offer items for sale while your character is offline. You need active offline shop access and an approved location within a suitable peaceful area.

When setting up the shop, you choose your items and set their prices. The shop NPC then handles sales. Shop Search finds both regular personal shops and NPC Shops, helping buyers search for your offers. Your sales proceeds are delivered through Express.

Before opening your shop, check the quantities, prices and properties of the items you are offering. Displayed Astral, seal and Rare stats help when comparing equipment. Express also delivers other rewards, such as dungeon loot you have won when your inventory is full.

13 · Episode V

PvP and PvE rankings

The PvP rankings and PvE rankings give you two different ways to compare your progress with other players. From the quick menu, open PvP Ranking for the PvP standings or Ranking for the PvE standings. Both views let you switch between the overall standings and individual classes, including the Huntress.

PvP points from qualifying victories

PvP has weekly and monthly rankings. A qualifying victory earns you one point, while a qualifying defeat deducts one point. Your total cannot fall below zero. Your position therefore reflects how successfully you compete over the relevant period.

Not every defeated character awards ranking points. Guild members and opponents more than 15 levels below you do not award points. Repeated victories over the same opponent also stop counting. This keeps the rankings based on qualifying encounters rather than allowing players to raise their scores indefinitely against the same opponents.

Clerics can also participate through their group: if there is exactly one nearby Cleric in the winner's party or Fellowship, a qualifying victory can also be credited to that Cleric, provided they meet the scoring requirements themselves. Nearby Clerics on the losing side can also lose a point.

The standings are updated hourly. The weekly ranking ends when the new week begins on Monday, and the monthly ranking ends at the start of the next month. Both use server time. Once the winners have been determined, points for that ranking period start again from zero.

The top three players in the completed overall weekly ranking each receive a PvP title valid for seven days. The first-place player also becomes the Weekly PvP Hero. The top three players in the completed overall monthly ranking receive reward boxes. The class filter helps you compare yourself with others in your class; these PvP rewards are based on the overall standings.

Monthly reward boxes are delivered through Express. Collect the delivery within seven days, before its collection period expires.

PvE rankings based on your equipment

In the PvE rankings, your equipment rating—Gearscore—comes first. If Gearscore is tied, character level is the next deciding factor, followed by normal character EXP. Ascension Points are not used in this ordering.

Gearscore counts your equipped regular gear, including accessories and your back-slot item. Item levels, actual enhancement levels on weapons and armor, sockets, and relevant equipment options contribute to the rating. Astral Stones have their own contribution to the score. Items in your bag inventory and C2 costume slots do not increase this ranking value.

The PvE rankings therefore reflect your equipment and character development. They do not count monster kills. To improve your position, work on the equipment included in the score and compare its properties.

The PvE ranking is rebuilt every Monday at 06:00 server time. It uses the equipment saved at that time and remains a snapshot until the next evaluation. Equipping a new item therefore does not immediately change your displayed ranking position.

The overall winner and the leading players in each class receive PvE titles valid for seven days. The overall winner also becomes the Weekly PvE Hero. Weekly Hero statues display the honored characters and their equipment for other players to see.

Guilds, alliances, and the battle for Sylvalis

Guilds gain shared tasks, with progress tracked in the guild window. There, you can see which Guild Quests are available, how far your guild has progressed, and which rewards they offer. Tasks that follow a daily or weekly schedule give you shared goals for your time in the game.

Guild Alliances let you join forces with other guilds. Use alliance chat to coordinate and organize activities together. You can also mark enemy guilds, keeping those relationships visible during everyday guild play.

Guild points and guild skill costs

Previously farmed Guild Points have been reduced to 100,000 points. The costs of using Guild Skills have also been adjusted. When planning your guild activities, check the displayed cost of each skill so you can spend your points on the effects you want.

Eight active Guild Skills now consume fewer Guild Points when used. Seven of them cost one tenth of their previous amount. For example, Guild Honor Wall at rank 1 now costs 50 rather than 500 Guild Points. For Guild SP Time, the cost per use falls from 600 to 15 at rank 1, from 700 to 20 at rank 2, and from 1,000 to 30 at rank 3.

This makes it easier to use these Guild Skills regularly during group activities. These reductions apply to the cost per use. Check the relevant rank for the requirements and materials needed to learn or improve a Guild Skill.

In Sylvalis sieges, planning and teamwork take center stage. Score displays and statistics help guilds and players follow the battle, including Guild Points, kills, and deaths. During registration, your guild leader can withdraw your guild's entry at the siege NPC if you can no longer take part.

Guild, PvP, and PvE rankings provide further ways to compare progress. Gearscore shows an equipment rating, while the Weekly Hero statue presents the honored character wearing their gear. This makes your progress visible to other players, too.

Quests and collections for your next goals

New quests accompany the episode and the Huntress's journey. The quest window shows objectives and rewards, including Ascension Points for eligible quests. Themed item collections give you more rewards to work towards by gathering the required items.

Choose your next goals based on the requirements and rewards shown. Fishing collections, for example, lead to regional titles and the two new companions. You can direct your catches toward a reward that interests you.

Plan events and enjoy them together

The Event Calendar lists events on the day they start. Select a day to see which activities begin then. Event details provide a description and duration so you can plan your playtime around them.

This helps you keep track of the start of EXP, SP, gold, drop, companion EXP, and Affinity events. Enhancement and jewel events can also be announced there. Always check the dates and bonuses displayed for each event.

System messages accompany announced activities before they start, when they begin, and when they end. In the OX Quiz, you answer questions and try to survive the scheduled rounds. The quiz takes place every day. Check the in-game Event Calendar and announcements for the scheduled time, and watch for the start of registration as well.

Royal Rumble offers PvP with anonymized participant appearances.

The boss respawn display also helps you find your next activity. Together with announced boss spawns and the calendar, it lets you plan your next goals: a guild outing, a world boss, or a fishing break between two activities.

Improvements and fixes

This episode also updates combat flow and many details of everyday play. Here is what changes while you play and which frustrating situations these changes address.

Skills respond more directly to your input

In PvP, a delayed skill can decide a fight: you press the key, but your character only starts acting after an extra wait. The revised skill flow reduces this dependence on ping.

Many character skills now begin their animations as soon as you activate them, while the game server checks the action in the background. This reduces additional pauses between your input and the visible response. The flow feels closer to the immediate response of normal attacks, particularly helping players with higher connection latency use their skills more smoothly.

Cast times, cooldowns, ranges, and costs still apply. Certain skills, such as movement and pull abilities, still need confirmation first. If an action is rejected, its skill state is released and any cooldown displayed prematurely for that attempt is rolled back. A failed attempt therefore does not unnecessarily block your next inputs.

More reliable range checks against moving targets

Skill range checks account more accurately for the actual position of moving players. Previously, a moving target's displayed position could differ from the position checked for the attack. This could produce the “Too far away” message even when, from your perspective, you were already close enough to the opponent.

The adjusted checks account for these position differences more accurately. This particularly improves the use of skills at melee range against moving players. Your skill's intended range remains unchanged.

Keep fighting after Death Motion and Telekenisis

When a Rogue uses Death Motion, skills that other attackers have already prepared against that target are canceled cleanly. The skill state that could become stuck is released. This addresses the situation in which you could no longer use skills after your target used Death Motion and had to cast a self-buff to act again.

With Telekenisis, a skill being used by the displaced player is ended cleanly, and their readiness for the next action is reset. The cancellation message applies specifically to that player. It does not also interrupt the skills of uninvolved players.

Snare stops the character for other players, too

When a moving character is immobilized by Snare effects, including the Ninja variant, their stopping position is sent to the other players. This prevents the previous sliding caused by a movement state continuing to run: you see the immobilized opponent where they were stopped, rather than apparently continuing to move across the screen.

Smoother stops and more accurate arrivals

When reaching a point you clicked, the final movement step is limited more precisely. In the cases addressed, the character no longer overshoots the destination and then starts jumping back and forth around it.

The way other players stop has also been updated. Small position differences are corrected more smoothly, and outdated stop messages no longer cause a late snap backward. This reduces the distracting trailing movement and stuttering after running.

The guild EXP lock persists when changing channels

After a channel change, your configured Guild EXP contribution or EXP lock is correctly carried over. The new channel uses that setting rather than silently calculating with a reset value. This addresses the situation in which you could unexpectedly receive character EXP despite having previously enabled the lock.

Revival during sieges

The waiting period after a death during a siege is also respected when you select your character again. Returning to character selection does not reset this waiting period; the remaining revival timer still applies.

Costume weapons during emotes and Sorcerer transformations

During emotes, your C2 weapons are hidden as required by the animation and then shown again. This prevents your costume weapon from becoming stuck in the wrong visual state during these sequences.

Costume rendering also takes active Sorcerer transformations, such as the hellhound form created by Firewind Evocation, into account. When your costume information is loaded again, costume parts and their effects are not attached to the transformation model. Your normal equipment is shown again when you return to your regular form.

Hear effect sounds through to the end

One-shot skill effect sounds can now play for their full duration, even if the associated animation has already ended. Longer sounds are therefore no longer cut short solely because that animation ends.

Updated mouse pointers

The mouse pointer graphics have been updated. The new cursors replace the previous graphics for the different pointer states used in the game.

Practical features for everyday play

The new systems provide dedicated storage: manage runes in the Rune Inventory and catches in your fishing net. More inventory slots can be unlocked. You can lock important items to prevent accidental actions.

Use Ctrl + left-click on an item in your inventory to insert an item link into chat. Other players can then see its properties—useful when you want to show off a new weapon, discuss an offer, or compare equipment.

The Messenger keeps a conversation history for the past 24 hours. Alliance chat and messages to friends help you coordinate. You can end shared social animations with the Space bar when needed. The radar clock follows server time and helps you keep track of the schedules shown.

The anniversary item Candle now stacks up to 9,999, compared with 999 before. This means you need fewer inventory slots when collecting and storing larger quantities.

Recognize large gold amounts more easily

The gold display in the inventory and personal shop uses colors to indicate the size of an amount. When checking a balance or price, you can more quickly recognize whether it is in the thousands, millions, or an even larger range.
